Hiking the Grand Canyon; Hanging out in Jeju Island

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain

We are N (she’s internet shy) and Kanako, a lesbian couple who decided to leave the rat race in New York to fulfill our dreams of traveling around the world. We grew tired of sitting at a desk all day and wanted to explore the bigger world out there.

For us, the purpose of this trip is to learn and grow into socially and environmentally responsible people by connecting with the diverse cultures of the world we live in. We will be traveling with all of our necessities (and some luxuries) on our backs, and Couchsurfing and staying in hostels to maximize our opportunities to meet people. We are city people who are tired of the city, and thrive most in natural environments. Besides hitting the major cities of the countries we visit, we will be actively seeking out nature’s hidden gems for hiking, fishing and getting away from it all.

Kanannie is where we will share what we find with our friends, family and anyone else who is unfortunate enough to stumble upon our site. We hope you stop by often and feel free to say “hello” or ask about anything we post if you want more information for your own travels and journeys.
